We are proud to acknowledge that the current membership, which is now represented across seventeen countries, is now the largest one model club of its kind that is dedicated solely to these models. On Sunday 28th June the XKEC attended Supercar Sunday at Gaydon Heritage Museum in Warwickshire. Twenty XK's were amongst the hundreds of supercars present and we are pleased to say that one of our XKR's got into the last five of the trophy winners. On Saturday 20th June 2009 the XKEC visited Ward 10 of the St James Hospital in Leeds to present its first ever donation cheque to the ILKLEY CANDLELIGHTERS childrens cancer charity which the XKEC now proudly supports. The money had been raised through membership applications, renewals, individual donations and an on-line auction. An incredible £3520 was raised. Thank you to all the staff at St James Hospital who made us all feel so welcome. A second cheque will be presented again in 2010. On Sunday 14th June 2009 the XKEC attended the renowned Bromley Pageant of Motoring in Kent. Along with great weather, superb company and an endless array of cars and attractions the day was completed with the club being awarded 3rd place in the "3 Car Club Display" category. GROWLER VI On Saturday 9th May a total of 118 XKs gathered together at Kelmarsh Hall in Northampton to celebrate our GVI event. A combination of good weather and great company brought together an interesting array of XKs from standard cars up to fully modified vehicles including the 2009 APEX FIA GT3 Race car. Trophies were presented by our sponsors Sturgess Jaguar of Leicester. The day ended with a gala dinner dance followed by a trip on Sunday 10th May to Silverstone Race Circuit where 48 cars took part in a parade and behind-the-scenes tour.
