Chris Mellor

This is the first Jaguar that Chris has owned although his previous car stable includes an Aston Martin DB7, Porsche Boxster S, Caterham, Ultima Sports Coupe, Toyota Supra,Mitsubishi 3000 GT and currently a Mini Cooper S convertible upgraded to just shy of 250 brake horsepower.
Chris declares his Jaguar to be the best car that he has yet driven and displayed. The latter point supported by the many admiring comments that Chris has received. Even from new, and perhaps, envious Aston Martin owners!

First registered in November 2002 on a 52 plate, the car is an XKR, 4.2 litre Coupe with Paramount Performance XKR 450 Grand Prix Conversion. Besides incorporating virtually every option available from Jaguar, this car was originally fitted with a claimed 450 BHP/450 ft lbs torque engine upgrade with super sport exhaust and a special air induction filter fitted. The suspension has been lowered and a F1 gearshift 6 speed sequential push button gear change system added. This is switchable between automatic or manual. The brakes have been upgraded to AP Racing Road and Track Brakes. The car rides on 20" Khan Monobloc Alloys.

Outside the car is finished in Pacific Blue Metallic with the Paramount Grand Prix body kit (originally designed by Chas Whitaker, now at Racing Green Cars) displaying a new mouth, deep side skirts and rear boot spoiler all with new mesh grilles.

A totally unique interior incorporates Dove Grey leather conversion with additional grey and maroon leather, full cockpit interior metal features, black dash and door tops and tinted glass. Also featured is polished aluminium componentry, Paramount aluminium "J" gate and instrument rings. Racing Green Cars, ('RGC'), further upgraded the car for its second owner who specified a water methanol injection system and added the speed shift, push button sequential gear change system.

As soon as Chris bought the car from Chas at RGC,he commissioned RGC to further upgrade the supercharger drive system to gain even more power. Chris requested the fitting of a reverse park sensor kit and Meta-Sat GPA 800 GPS location and tracking system. Chris can now use his mobile phone to text the car and receive the car's exact GPS position report within seconds which he can geographically display on Meta-Sat's User web page. The Meta-Sat system will also remotely text Chris's mobile phone if the car is stolen and allow him to send a choice of remote text messages back to the car. Chris can control and limit the car's maximum speed and instruct the car to immobilise itself. This it does by refusing to allow the engine to re-start after the thief (?) next switches off the ignition. So no need for the Police to chase the Car! Chris simply tells them where it is for collection.

Chris is intending to upgrade the sequential push button gear change system to the latest design that RGC are currently developing in conjunction with a F1 transmission software engineer.Chris is also in discussion with RGC regarding future improvements that he can add to the car. Chris is excited about a significant performance upgrade that is in the pipeline, but that is as much as can be said on this subject at this juncture ! Watch this space. The car has been fully serviced by Paramount Performance and RGC with whom Chris will remain as he has found their staff exemplary in all aspects.

There are one or two other tricks up the car's sleeve which we cannot talk about but if you ask Chris he will let you in on the secrets when we hopefully meet up with him and his car at a Club event.
