Introduction:
Having been a car enthusiast especially for the Jaguar marque for many years I was fortunate enough to purchase a three-year-old XKR Convertible in June of 2003. The car was first registered in January 2000, had one previous owner and covered 36000 miles. It was purchased from a main dealer and was in absolutely pristine condition for a car of its age. The vehicle was in standard condition, the only option fitted being satellite navigation.

First Impressions:
Initially, like any sane Human Being I was absolutely blown away by the appearance, performance and comfort of the car, it being everything I expected and hoped for. However, as time passed I began to realize that several factors of the car were beginning to irritate me, particularly the useless rear seat (even my two small sons complained about it) and the ugly, cheap-looking Tonneau Cover, which seemed totally inappropriate on a car of this nature. I visited them in October 2003 and was greeted by Chas Whitaker who had arranged to have on display a vehicle which had been fitted with both conversions. An order for both was duly placed, the rear seat conversion being completed in December 2003. The specialist who fabricates the tonneau cover was not available until January 2004 and so the car was duly delivered back to Racing Green in the New Year.

In the meantime I had decided to have an interior conversion on the car and long discussions with Chas Whitaker took place. Eventually we decided on the following changes;
