The Zeemax ZMR
THE ZEEMAX ZMR!
This very unique XK you see before you is owned by XKEC Member Barry Perman.
At first glance it gives the impression of a later model XK but in fact it is a 1999 model with full bodykit conversion that has been totally redesigned.
 
Barry is very fortunate in that he owns his own body design and styling company called Zeemax which specialises in bodykits etc for Porsche, Mini and BMWs amongst others.
However, he has now created this awesome looking bodykit for the XK. There are two bodykits he can provide but this particular one is the wide stance kit called the ZMR, the other being a narrow style kit entitled the ZM.
 
Barry informed me that countless man hours had been spent over the past year perfecting this final design which you see before you. The panels and styling components are reinforced composite, and are designed to fit in much the same way a factory replacement panel would fit. They do not simply glue on new panels over the existing ones as many of its competitors.
The wide body conversion can save as much as 150 lbs in weight which in turn contributes to improved performance, superior handling and better braking capabilities.
The ZMR (wide body) conversion kit takes approximately four weeks to fit and costs £4784 (plus VAT) plus fitting charge. This includes a front bumper spoiler complete with integral lower splitter, aerodynamic under car diffuser, air extraction vents and built in number plate plinth, a complete replacement rear bumper with rear diffuser (accepts all exhaust systems), a pair of side skirts with non functional air ducts and integral side splitter, a 3-piece rear boot spoiler to assist in downforce and a rear window spoiler which optimises air flow.
 
It also includes replacement wide front wings / fenders incorporating air extraction vents, replacement quarter wide wings / fenders and a superb polished sports flip-up fuel cover.
Barry’s car also encompasses the optional twin rear light conversion. £650.00 (plus VAT).
There are also aerodynamic sports door mirrors, Brembo brake upgrades, polished grilles and pedal sets amongst his comprehensive service. Barry can also create any particular interior conversions to personal choice. Each of the wide bodied coachbuilt models will also be given a numbered plaque to commemorate their uniqueness.
