30th March 2008Hever Castle (Kent)Our first gathering of the year brought a number of members together at one of Kent’s major tourist attractions, Hever Castle. This was our clubs first visit to this venue and one which turned out to be very well liked indeed. As we arrived at the venue we found ourselves surprisingly behind a queue of XKs who had already arrived nice and early. We were then directed into our designated parking area which turned out to be just the right size for our 20 cars. Following an early coffee session members then took a leisurely stroll around the historic castle and surrounding gardens. Members were very impressed with the venue which many of them (despite being local) had not visited before. Despite the early initial downpour of rain, the weather did cheer up as the day went on, ending with quite a warm sunny day. Many thanks goes to all the members who turned out for our first event of the 2008 season. We now look forward to many more throughout the coming year.
