Haynes Motor Museum and East Somerset Railway (SOMERSET)

The XKEC arranged a day out for members which encompassed two venues and a convoy.

The idea was that we visited the East Somerset Railway (in time for a 11:00 return train journey) in the morning and then visit Haynes Motor Museum in Yeovil in the afternoon. The two venues were about 30 minutes apart so this gave us the ideal opportunity to also do some XKEC convoying.

The East Somerset Railway consisted of a steam train journey through the rolling Mendip countryside. It was a five mile round trip and travel back in time to the halcyon days of steam?

The prestigious Haynes International Motor Museum, at Sparkford in Somerset is the UK's largest exhibition of the greatest cars from around the world. A living and working museum, with over 400 amazing cars and bikes from nostalgic classics of the 50s and 60s, glorious Bentleys and Rolls Royces to exciting super cars of today, like the Jaguar XJ220 and the Ferrari 360. You can discover the world famous Red Room, 11 huge display halls and one of the UK's largest speedway collections.

Here are some pictures taken throughout the day.
