Silverstone Classics (NORTHAMPTONSHIRE)

 

The organisers of the Silverstone Classic event (Goose Communications) once again invited the XKEC to be part of a very large public display of club cars in the infield area of the Silverstone circuit over the weekend of 23-25 July 2010. Approximately 122 car clubs were on display.

it was a record weekend at the Classic, with visitor numbers up by 10% to 73,000.

This year the XKEC had a presence over all 3 days of the event with our biggest display being on the Saturday which attracted some 53 XKs in total, all proudly sited on Copse Corner.

On track the racing was spectacular and in the paddock wherever you looked gorgeous cars from across the generations of Motor Sport, made a stunning spectacle which kept the enthusiastic amateur photographers snapping all day.

The event celebrated 60 years of the Formula 1 ‘World Championship’ at the home of British Grand Prix with a selection of three high quality grids racing on the historic GP circuit, and displays and features celebrating the entire 60 years.

Overall, 22 races, 1200+ competitors, and over 700 of the most valuable race cars and motorcycles in the world made the whole weekend very spectacular.
