These days if we are travelling with the dogs we just use our estate (affectionately known as the 'doggy-wagon').

Sorry Scott, I had to read that twice as I thought it said 'doggin wagon' first time |

What is this hound? Sounds like a small terrier, with an unpleasant French attitude? |

| There is a company called `Over the Top` that do seat covers for dogs for in the rear of XK`s, we had a cover from them about 6 years ago, sure they are still about, have a look on the `net`. Any problems get in touch and I`ll sort out more details. |

| To be quite frank I really don't think there is enough room for a GSD (and yes they should be called German Sheperd Dogs and not Alsations (german phobia startred that one off!) in an XK and certainly not enough safety for either you or the dog. My solution is an old Classic Range Rover. A lot of chaps of my age (wrong side of 40!) that I have met have gone down the route of buying 4x4's or people carriers to fit the family in.....I bought the XK8 convertible so that I COULD NOT fit the kids in!! The dog prefers the 4x4 as he can look down on lesser mortals and the muddy paw prints fade into insignificance compared to the c%*p left behind by the children. |

You could always get a retro luggage rack to go on the boot, then get the dog a flying hat and goggles and strap him down with bungees?
I have proposed a similar solution to my wife for transporting our forthcoming bundle of joy as I'm not sure i can fit the baby carrier in the back as easy as the child seat for my current little darling. But for some strange reason she seemed less than impressed? |

I have a 6 1/2 stone Rhodesian Ridgeback sits in mine. Hard work trying to keep the little bugger from jumping into the front. He has a front seat perch (secured) in the transit pikey van
Oh, and he's only 11 months old hehehe
Cheers,
Hoppy

I had a large Rhodesia Ridgeback many years ago.
I took the front passenger seat out and the wife and kids would sit in the back.
You should have seen the looks people gave when they looked accross at the traffic lights etc. _________________ If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough!

Hang on you're all missing the point here! It's a dog with 4 legs shouldn't be anywhere near the car make it walk! Best of all get the misses to walk it meet you there - you get time alone in the car to go as fast as you like with out her telling you to slow down - fantastic, sorted! Any more problems just let me know. Pleased to be of help! _________________ If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a couple of mortgage payments! |

not got one myself, but I made something similar from a large piece of table protection matting and a neat bit of cutting. Ok our Jacques Russell is slightly smaller the an Alsatian but it does the job admirably

Great!
I wrote them an email to know the price of the XK model.
